Forever Haunts my Memories

Bennett I blame you for this post. I was reading Bennett's Blog about a horrible dream he had, and I was reminded of a dream that I had years ago that has always haunted my memory. His blog page is listed on the right side.

One time I had a dream that was very similar. Also, by similar, I mean not at all the same, but it was a good dream none the less.
I was sitting in a room. The room is irrelevant to this tale. I was sitting on the floor with a roll of quarters. I slowly opened the roll and began to pop the quarters into my mouth. I could vividly remember the cold metal taste in my mouth even though this was only a dream. I would repeat this process of flicking a quarter into my mouth from the roll of quarters with my thumb, and then swallowing the quarter. After a short while I started to cough violently until I coughed something into my hand.
It was a small piece of paper.
It was a small folded piece of paper. My curiosity got the best of me, and I started to unfold the paper. I slowly opened several folds of the small portion of paper. I somehow knew that there was something to be discovered. There was nothing wrapped with the paper. Only some writing on the paper itself. The writing simply said:
$2.50.
I laughed myself awake.

True story.

Reginald the Rock

This Friday starts mid-term break. I am really excited about going home, I really miss a lot of people. Although, this week I have a lot of tests, which means a lot of studying for subjects I don't care that much for, and studying more for classes that I enjoy.
To be honest, right now I am just finishing up a drawing and posting it on this here blog. Nifty huh?
As of right now, I am just posting a drawing, but maybe soon I will have a mostly text blog, just maybe.

Ninja Razorblades

I believe I am going to post my drawings on this blog. If for nothing else, except to have a date attached to them, because it is so hard to write down a date after I create something.

The inspiration for this happened to come from a game I played last night with a group of people. I'm not sure what the game was called, but you had a stack of small papers, and a group of people each with their own stack. You would write down a sentence on the first piece of paper, and then pass it to the next person and they would draw out your sentence. Then they would pass to the next person, and they would write a sentence from the picture.
For this game, we would do that several times, and somehow, ninja razorblades made an appearance. Truly a great game.

I made this a week or so ago.
I'm pretty sure you can click on it to see it larger.--John D.

Status

Creative inspiration is a mystery in itself. Much like the wind, not many people explain where it originates, but the effects are anything but secret. It is quite possible that there is a scientific explanation for this phenomenon, this being the generation of a thought. That thought then changes. Sometimes slowly, but not in this case. There were variables involved: far too many to count, and far too obscure to remember. Heed my warning, plot holes may be present, but you have my word that this tale is entirely true (except for false information). Just use your imagination for the details, but the following conversation truly happened:

(The following name has not been changed to protect anyone)
The time was approximately 10:29PM.
“I want to pass an idea by you,” appears on the computer screen. This message was sent, the ball is already rolling.
Paul simply replies with two letters, “ok.” Knowing his friend, Paul types the following words: “no, we’re not wearing drag and can-can dancing on the stage in the chapel.”
More words are passed between both parties, the plan is moving forward at breakneck speed. There is only one factor left to change this from an idea into an act.
More words appear, “think I should do it?”
Paul types, “sure why not”
“the deed is done”

This sounded like a great idea at the time, “genius!” I thought, “Pure genius!”

This was not really a prank, but an assessment, or possibly a test. I am not in a “relationship.” I am very much single. Someday, that will most probably change. I’m looking forward for that day, but I am torn. I do not want to be in a relationship if I have anything to gain, and would displaying such information be for personal gain? With any relationship I am in, whether it be friendship or more, am I expecting something from that relationship? Or do I truly care about the other person, to where I would care about them, and thats it. Is any of my relationships for selfish ambition, or do I have love for people? I think I do, but these thoughts have definitely made me re-analyze my friendships, and think toward the future.
This is something that I have been thinking about for quite a while now, so I thought I would share. Do not misunderstand me, I do not want you to feel bad, I would have fallen for my trap too. I am a sneaky little devil.

Now for my apologies. I’m sorry if I got you excited. You can be excited for me being single though, cause I see it as a blessing at this point in my life. I love being single, and when that changes, I’m pretty sure I will like that too.
I’m sorry if I made you angry. I did take advantage of your curiosity, but I think this message is a whole lot nicer than “haha, I got you all. Are am I so funny? tee-hee.”
I’m sorry if I broke your heart. To the ladies that saw my status and cried and ate ice-cream and started watching “The Notebook.” I am very sorry. But good news, you had ice-cream! That is always good news.
For anything else, I don’t apologize, because I don’t know about it yet.

I hope you enjoyed this little journey that started with a little heart and text that stated, “John is listed as in a relationship. 10:31pm.” I bet you had no idea it would lead to this, but I hope you are glad that it did.
